PROBLEMS

After left school for 54 years, I started to pick up "FINE ART" at NAFA. It is very excited to study here. The problems for me are poor English and handling the computer.  I am still struggling   with the subject " CREATIVE THINKING " . I am Chinese educated.  At my time , I only have 6 hours to study English per week the text book were  published from China. The history  of China and Europe were taught in mandarin.  Math also in Chinese, We used the text book  published from China. After six years of secondary  school, student continue to study at NANYANG UNIVERSITY, also in mandarin .
At NAFA, from what i see, some of the  student from China also stuggling for the language and expression.  I wish all the  student  from China will improve their study in near future. They are not stupid , their art technic are much better then Singapore student.

LATERAL THINKING

Edward de Bona, the creative of "LATERAL THINKING"  explains that creativity is  a skill that anyone can learn with proper training.
It is a way of solving problems by using your imagination to find new ways of looking at the problem and it is from a totally  different perspective
we have to find new ways  of looking at the problem and is the practical process  of creativity. Or sometime we call invention process, using the
the development of sustainable  technology.

BREAKING THE ROUTINE

Since I started Nafa Orientation,  I have been so busy with study, drawing , buying stationary and art materials from Art Friend.

Every night can't sleep till 130am. I need a break  and i want to have good quality of sleep. I think  brisk walking is a good exercise to burn my fatty fats.

Without telling anybody, not even to my husband, i disappeared out of the house one morning without makeup.

I took bus no. 36 to the airport.

CRAZY!  ME! I want to eat something different for my breakfast.
In the morning, airport T1 is so crowed.

I feel hungry , eat something different? Yes!  Indian prata. I ordered 2 pratas and a curry chicken and finished it, follow by a cup of "tehsi".

It's tasty. Now I want to start my brisk walking. 30 minutes into walking , my tummy start to ache! I had no choice but stop walking, I need to go toilet.
Ha ha!

With this interesting facts that we have of each
other in the group, we then started brainstorming ideas on
how we could construct a story based on what little info
we have. and after a brief but intense discussion.. Super Granny was born!! Instead of a story which usually has a beginning and an end, we decided on a fictional character profile description which we found to be hilariously interesting. while doing so, we created endless story possibilities for our character Super Granny!

SUPER GRANNY PROFILE

"Mdm Heng is a 72 year old grandmother. She's an amazing cook. Apart from being able to play musical instruments like the piano and the ukelele, she's also an art teacher for kids who dabble in multiple painting styles. To everyone she appears to be just your average grandmother.. BUT sometimes when no one is looking.. she transforms into your friendly neighbourhood SUPER GRANNY!! As a fitness extremist and an adrenaline junkie, Super Granny goes about her day doing extreme activities like swimming 2km out into sea, handling and firing multiple firearms for sport to practice for her paintball matches! You can usually spot her skateboarding about the the neighbourhood from time to time. And if you ever get the chance to speak to her, she'll show you how she dislocates her shoulder even if you dont wish to see it."

One Hour Journey

It's a long day! I left home at 930am this morning. It is now 6pm and i'm heading home after my 3D class. As i cross the traffic light at Middle Road , I see a  popular vegetarian stall crowed with hungry people queuing to buy dinner.  The heavenly smell of food surrounding me! I smell the fried black pepper udon  which I love . Although The Selilanka Indian Temple and The Kuan Yin Chinese Temple were packed with many religious devotees praying to their God, the surrounding was quiet and peaceful. I could the Aunty selling flowers calling out softly to passers by: " Aunty, would you like to buy flowers to pray for peace, fortune and luck?"

Soon after, i reach Albert Centre. This place has a big hawker centre with 80 food stalls. I am once again surrounded by the aroma of food.

Next, i come to Bugis Village. This is a busy shopping market that is similar to the Ladies Street in Hong Kong.
It sells many things from toys to clothes and electronic items and many other products.
Personally, i do not like this place as it very crowded with people and the walkway is narrow.

I arrive at the bus stop at South Bridge Road. I usually take a bus home from here. There is a very wide zebra crossing here.
This bus stop has many bus services. As I wait for my bus, i see many people alighting and boarding from the many buses.
Finally, my bus is here! My journey home will take 35 mins.

I finally reach home!
I look out from my window and there is this beautiful scenery in front of me.
